Reconciliación

Hoy me he reconciliado con Santiago de Chile. Sigue siendo la misma ciudad fantástica que la ultima vez, pero esta vez siento que la voy pillando el ritmo.

Photo-anxiety

Friday night, all is quiet and still at home, my mind already flies to my next destination, Santiago de Chile, my body flies on Monday night. My expectations of myself are high, last tripp the photos were disapointing, I only have one I like...

Cliche

For the first time I set foot on Africa yesterday. Tunis to be exact, it was brief to say the least. A quick trip from a cruise ship (my set and home for the last couple of days), to the airport. In this brief stint all the cliches I had known about Africa and the arab world came to life.

Having made it through the ordeal of being allowed off the ship I found myself following my passport in the hands of a fast walking, even faster talking driver, with 50€ tucked inside it´s pages, jumping a fence with my luggage, hopping into a dusty cab and heading to the ports huge and deserted Customs & Immigration hall to be held up for half an hour whilst the on duty officer finished his tea and cigarette with his colleagues. Then off to another door and another bureaucratic requirement, did i have the right colored stamp in my passport? and finally into the streets of Tunisia. The radio full blast, the driver constantly on his cell phone, over taking cars left and right, and eventually to a 70´s style airport half deserted if it were not for the omnipresent photos of the nations president.

Of my roughly 60min around Tunisia the one thing I really didn´t expect to se were four huge bowling alleys on the way to the airport.

To round off my evening the plane was over two hours late, why did this not surprise me... But at least the floor no longer swayed under my feet, and I was no longer being knocked around the "feeding hall" by Korean tourists trying to grab the last strips of the bacon.

Upon disembarking, Tunis offered many transport options. Unfortunately the desired one was no were to be found....

Sunday

Sunday, up early (why?), not much picture taking, but a big day editing. Just as important I guess? Sundays are not the best of days to bring up a camera to your face and point it at perfect stranger in the street. When people are late for work they seem to notice you less, or at least not mind....
